August 1942 Collectibles – They Didn’t Say This Mugs, Posters, Tees and Hoodies

As Fall Blau seems to be getting stuck in the mud and traffic, Rommel has the upper hand in North Africa, and the Japanese are being pressed back at Guadalcanal, we cane to wonder what WW2 leaders might have said if they knew some more modern pop songs. A few glasses of wine later this was the result….

We’re fairly certain that regardless if Winston Churchill was or was not a thug – he felt he was living the Thug Life, so he might have said “I didn’t choose the thug life, the thug life chose me.”

Now, we all wondered, at least in early 42 how the hell Douglas MacArthur was surviving this war… and he was in tropics. So he probably said “It’s a jungle out there, it makes me wonder how I keep from going under” many, many times.

So far George S. Patton hasn’t done much in this war, but if there is one quote that defines his entire career it’s probable the winged words; “fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me.”

Remember back in May and June 1941, when Stalin believed the Germans weren’t coming? Yeah… on June 22 he MUST have at least thought, probably said; “Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. Now it looks as though they’re here to stay. Oh I believe in yesterday.”
